I'm actually posting something from school! Because I'm kind of proud of it aha. It's the first time I've painted in acrylic (aside from painting on my walls a bit when I was younger and painting sculptures) Also the first time I've attempted a realistic human portrait. Well we did a bit of that in drawing class last year but I always produced mass failure.

It's 6x6 inches on illustration board. We had to paint someone we admire. I chose my boyfriend ~Anklebones.

This is the reference picture: [link] He was painted up like a skull face for Halloween. I didn't trace anything, drew it by hand on a sheet of mylar and transferred it over in layers as I painted. I couldn't help but exaggerate his teeth a bit. i LOVE THEM SO.

This was so much fun. I love acrylics jhsdgfjsdf

You truly have a lot of skills dude. And yet you're very young... so I guess that makes you a genius. And your boyfriend is amazingly hardcore. I hope you'll be well-known and get rich thanks to your work!

This is brilliantly done. You work so well with acrylics! The detail and blending really are so smooth.

That technique of drawing on mylar and transferring it in layers... did they teach you that during the class? It sounds like an interesting process.

Thanks! :]

Yeah he did a demonstration. To transfer we used white chalk pastel on the back of the mylar. I just used it enough to get the big basic shapes in the right place.

I saw this in my inbox and my first reaction was "why is he posting of picture of his bf?"
then I realized it was a painting, You had me fooled for a minute.
I like how wispy the hair is and how shiny the piercings look.
you did really well on the realism, and you really did well using the acrylics, your shading is really nice.
I tried acrylics a few times and I failed with them lolol
